Emergency Drain Help Across Artarmon, 24 Hours a Day
A toilet filling instead of emptying. A gully out the back going under while the rain is still falling. Drains pick their moment, and it is rarely business hours.
That is why the phones stay open 24 hours and why a person answers them. Most calls here finish with a van at the kerb within hours, rather than a booking slot sometime next week.
(02) 9134 9067 reaches that person now, whatever the clock says.
Autumn is the giveaway season. The mature street trees drop their load, the leaves find the drains, and the calls stack up inside a fortnight.
Whoever arrives will say plainly what has failed before a tool comes out. If the toilet turns out to be the symptom rather than the fault, blocked toilets covers what happens from there.
How can we help?
Our Blocked Drain Services in Artarmon
One sluggish sink or a main line that has stopped accepting anything at all, it lands in one of the six below. Each has its own page.
Not sure which one you are looking at? Ring and tell us what the drain is doing, and we will work out the rest at our end.
Blocked Drain Repair
Clearing a line and fixing it are two different jobs. Blocked drain repair is the second one: cracked joints, collapsed sections, and relining where the pipe itself has given out.

Blocked Stormwater
Rainwater lines only matter on the days they fail, and then they matter enormously. Blocked stormwater clears pits, downpipe lines and gullies so the water goes where it should.

Blocked Sewer
When every fixture in the house backs up at once, the sewer line is the culprit. Blocked sewer work shifts the obstruction and deals with whatever let it form.

Blocked Toilets
A toilet that rises, gurgles or empties slowly is talking about the drain behind it. Blocked toilets jobs deal with the pan and the line running off it in a single visit.

CCTV Drain Inspection
Behind the Hampden Road shops the drainage runs under a working retail strip, and nobody is guessing where to dig there. A CCTV drain inspection puts the exact fault on a screen, to the metre and the depth.

Drain Cleaning
Grease, silt and root fibre narrow a pipe for months before it blocks outright. Drain cleaning strips all of that back off the pipe wall so the flow returns properly.

Signs You Have a Blocked Drain
A drain almost always warns you first. Catch it at the warning stage and a clean sorts it; leave it and you are mopping.
| What you notice | The likely reason | Your next move |
|---|---|---|
| Sink or bath emptying slowly | Grease, hair or fine root closing the pipe in | Have it cleaned while it is still passing water |
| Gurgling from the toilet or drain | Air squeezing past something lodged in the line | Put nothing more down it |
| Sewer smell inside or in the yard | Waste held up and going stale behind an obstruction | Have someone look with a camera |
| Gully overflowing during heavy rain | More runoff arriving than the line can take | Keep away from the water and phone us |
| Every fixture backing up together | The sewer main itself has choked | Urgent: see blocked sewer |
| Shower rising when the toilet flushes | Two fixtures feeding one blocked branch | Phone before it spills onto the floor |
Why Homeowners Here Pick Us When Drains Block
Working households fill this suburb, across both the houses and the unit blocks, and none of them has a spare morning to hand over to a drain. Three things settle it for most people: a straight answer, a price nobody moved afterwards, and a van that actually arrives.
Those are the four commitments below. The people behind them are worth a look too.
An Honest Diagnosis, First
You will hear what's wrong and the honest best way to fix it, in plain words, before any work begins. Where the cheaper option is genuinely the right one, that is what we quote.
Fair Pricing, No Surprises
You approve a price up front and that is what lands on the invoice. Should something surface that changes the scope, work pauses and we walk you through it rather than pressing on.
Quality Workmanship Guaranteed
Nothing gets signed off until water has run through it in front of you, and our quality workmanship is guaranteed. The job ends when the drain works.
Fifteen Years Under Sydney Houses
15+ years' experience means very little down a drain still surprises us. Hundred-year-old clay, a modern unit stack, both have come up plenty of times before.
Our simple process
Our Process: Find It, Clear It, Fix It for the Long Term
Every blockage gets the same order of operations, because guessing is how people end up paying twice. Find the cause, clear the line, then fix the reason it happened.
- 01
Get Eyes on It
Nothing happens until the camera has been down. You see the footage as we do, which turns the diagnosis into something you can look at instead of something you have to take on faith.
- 02
Clear the Blockage
Jetting at high pressure tears out root, fat and grit and takes the bore back to its full width. On a line too frail to take that, the electric eel clears it gently instead.
- 03
Deal With the Cause
A drain that reblocks by spring was only ever moved along, not mended. Roots come out at the point they entered, beaten sections are patched or relined, and the actual fault gets addressed.
- 04
Prove It and Pack Up
Water runs through with you watching, and the place is left the way we found it. Lifetime labour warranty applies from that moment, so anything amiss brings us back.
Local knowledge that matters
What Artarmon Homes Need to Know About Their Drains
The Federation and Californian bungalow homes that fill the East Artarmon conservation area went up in the 1910s to 1930s, and most of them are still draining through the clay pipes laid at the time. A century in the ground fractures earthenware.
Once a joint parts, the pipe stops being a sealed line and becomes an invitation. Roots and debris find the gap, and from then on the trouble always begins at that same joint, which is why these lines keep blocking until the pipe itself gets repaired.
The double-brick bungalows along Artarmon Road and Muttama Road are the classic version of this story. The houses were built to last a hundred years and they have; the drains were not, and they have not.
The ground plays a part too. Artarmon sits on a ridge over shale and rock, so most of the suburb is elevated and drains well, but the steep gullies falling away from it concentrate runoff into the lower streets when the rain is heavy.
That gives the suburb two different drain problems at two different addresses. Up on the ridge it is old clay and roots, so drain cleaning and relining are the answer.
Down in the gully streets near Artarmon Reserve it is volume, arriving all at once. That is a stormwater question rather than a sewer one, and the two do not get fixed the same way.
Compare the difference
How We Compare, Side by Side
On a good day, anyone with an eel can shift a blockage. Where firms part company is everything wrapped around that: the cost of turning up, the worth of the guarantee, and who wears it when the drain blocks a second time.

Fair, upfront pricing — no surprises
What You Pay, Agreed Before We Start
We look first and quote second. Any price offered before someone has seen the drain is a guess, and it is never the plumber who wears a bad guess.
So you get a fixed price before we start, and the visit itself is $0. Three things shape that price: the depth the blockage sits at, how awkward the line is to get to, and whether the pipe is simply choked or genuinely broken.
Those factors get explained to you, not buried. New customers take $65 off their first service, and best price guaranteed means that if another plumber quotes cheaper on an identical job, we beat it.
Call (02) 9134 9067 and the figure is settled before anyone lifts a tool.
The price we quote is the price you pay. No exceptions.

300+ five-star reviews
Real jobs, real homes, re-told with permission. Names are first names only.
The reviews tend to land on the same few things. Arthur kept his short: we did what we promised, and he would book us again without stopping to think about it.
P. remembered the manners as much as the plumbing, and said politeness like that was hard to fault.
Fast to your door
Servicing Artarmon, Willoughby and Surrounding Areas
Artarmon sits inside the City of Willoughby, and we are through here most weeks on the regular run, which is the practical reason a van can reach you today. That run does not stop at the council boundary either.
Chatswood, Naremburn and Willoughby share the Willoughby council area with us; Lane Cove and St Leonards answer to Lane Cove and North Sydney respectively. All five get the same service.

Good questions, straight answers
Blocked Drain FAQs
Six questions we get asked constantly, with the replies you would get over the phone. For anything beyond these, the FAQ page digs deeper.
What is a CCTV drain inspection and do I need one?
A small camera goes down the drain on a flexible rod and we watch the footage together on a screen. You need one whenever a drain has blocked twice, because the second blockage is telling you about the pipe rather than about what went down it.
Who is responsible for a blocked sewer, me or Sydney Water?
As a rule, the private drainage on your property is yours up to the point where it joins the main, and Sydney Water looks after the mains from there on. Treat that as general guidance rather than legal advice, and if you are unsure, the camera settles where the trouble actually sits.
Do you charge a call-out fee in Artarmon?
No. There is a $0 call-out fee, so you pay for the fix and not for the visit, and new customers take $65 off their first service on top of that.
Why do older Artarmon homes get so many blocked drains?
The Federation and bungalow houses through the East Artarmon conservation area were laid with clay drains in the 1910s to 1930s, and a century underground fractures them. Once a joint opens, roots and debris get in, and the same line blocks again and again until the pipe itself is dealt with.
Can you remove tree roots from my drain without digging?
Nearly always. High-pressure jetting cuts the root mass out from inside the pipe, and where the joint that let them in has failed, a liner seals it without opening up the garden.
Do you offer a 24/7 emergency blocked drain service?
Yes, around the clock, and a real person picks up rather than a machine. A drain that fails at 2am gets the same answer as one that fails at 2pm.
