Good questions, straight answers

Your Questions, Answered

What does "best price guaranteed" actually mean?

Whatever we quote stays fair against the market, not padded so there is room to negotiate later. Bring us a proper apples-for-apples quote from elsewhere and ours will match or better it.

How does your pricing work for drain jobs?

There's no hourly rate ticking over while we work. One flat figure covers the entire job, settled before anyone opens the van, based mainly on depth, access and whether it's a clear or a repair.

How do I pay?

Card or bank transfer both work, and the invoice only goes out once you've watched the drain run freely. Whatever figure you agreed to up front is what lands on it, nothing extra.

Can the price change once you start?

Not once you've signed off on it. What gets agreed at the start is what gets billed at the end, based on a proper inspection rather than a phone guess. Should the job reveal something nobody could have predicted, we down tools and explain before going further.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, NSW Plumbing Licence #292427C, covering water and gas work under one roof. You'll find it listed here and on the public register if you'd rather check for yourself.

How experienced are you with drains?

15+ years' experience, weighted heavily toward drainage and sewer lines rather than general plumbing. A blocked gully or a sluggish shower usually tells its own story after that much time on the tools.

Can I clear a blocked drain myself?

Give a plunger one fair shot if it's just a slow sink or pan. Chemical drain cleaners and hire-shop eels are best avoided, since both tend to chew up older pipework. Should the same spot block again shortly after, something further down needs a camera to find it properly.

Who actually turns up?

The same close-knit team each visit, not a revolving door of subcontractors. A dedicated drain-and-sewer specialist on the team takes the trickier jobs.

Are you really open 24 hours?

Genuinely, yes, and the person who picks up is on the team, not answering from a script. Same-day clearing is our default for most blockages, called in at any hour.

What counts as a drain emergency?

Sewage rising back through a shower or floor waste, a toilet that overflows and won't stop, or stormwater pooling with no grate to escape through. Anything showing up inside the house is worth calling about straight away.

How do I book?

Call (02) 9134 9067 and walk us through what's happening with the drain. There's no online form to wade through first, and a time is usually locked in before you hang up.

How quickly can you clear a blocked drain?

Same-day is our normal turnaround, not a premium add-on, right across Artarmon and the nearby suburbs. Calls that come in during the morning are typically sorted well before evening.

How local are you, really?

Artarmon and the streets around it make up the bulk of our week, not an occasional detour. That's the reason a van tends to be nearby whenever someone on the lower North Shore rings in.

Why do tree roots block so many Artarmon drains?

Mature street trees along the East Artarmon conservation area sit close to century-old clay drainage, and roots chase any moisture leaking from a cracked joint. Once a root gets a foothold it keeps thickening season after season until the pipe finally chokes.

Why do older Artarmon homes keep getting blockages?

Much of the housing dates to the 1910s-1930s Federation and Californian bungalow wave, originally fitted with earthenware clay drainage. After a century underground those joints turn brittle and let in roots and silt, which is why the same line can block again not long after a clear.

What suburbs do you service?

Artarmon plus [Chatswood](/blocked-drains-chatswood/), [St Leonards](/blocked-drains-st-leonards/), [Naremburn](/blocked-drains-naremburn/), [Lane Cove](/blocked-drains-lane-cove/) and [Willoughby](/blocked-drains-willoughby/), all on the one regular run.
